When the Moon Danced with the Sun

When the Moon Danced with the Sun: The dance began before they met. It started with the Sun chasing the Moon around the world. When the Sun could not take the hunt any longer, it finally called out to the Moon. They pause their chase to look at each other. “What is it?” asked the Moon. Only smiling, the Sun holds out his hand for the Moon to take. The stars in the sky all assemble to watch what is to happen. Below them, the ocean starts to rise and fall. As it does, the sea’s voice creates music with its roar and the crash of its waves lashing the shore. With that, the Sun and Moon begin to dance. Shining in the sky, dancing the night away. When morning beckoned, the dance came to an end. Bowing to one and the other, the time had come, once again, for the Sun and Moon to go their separate ways. For each to take turns brightening the sky. https://www.redbubble.com/i/poster/When-the-Moon-Danced-with-the-Sun-by-AngelWingArt/179187961/flk2

Star Catcher

*Star Catcher: There was a time when the Sun held the same position in the sky each and every day. There was no Spring, Autumn, or Winter. Only Summer. The people of the Earth became weary of the same old, same old thing. The wise ones knew of an ancient group of space travelers that may be able to help in their quest to have different seasons. A summons went out for help. The answer to their call was heard. Coming to their aid was an ancient order of cosmic beings. They are referred to as the Star Catchers. Some of you may know of this order of cosmic existence, and others may not. If not, here is the story of the Star Catcher. It is a job that requires a specific type of person to do. Not many can aspire to be trained as a “Star Catcher.” Only a few can finally, after much training, achieve the status of a “Star Catcher.” To be a Star Catcher, one must possess a steady hand and an excellent aim. Once approved and certified, they are awarded a golden magical rope that is used to lasso stars from the sky. On the day the Star Catcher arrived, he positioned himself on the highest cloud he could find. Taking a firm footing, he looped the golden magical rope around the Sun, tightened it snugly, and slowly brought it back to Earth. Once secured, it was then placed in a cosmic box and sent on its way to the Garage of Stars for a thorough inspection. There, it was quickly worked on. The objective of the work is to cause the Sun to move from its location, which it has held steadily for years, in the Earth’s sky. They removed the brakes and installed a spring. Then, without the brakes, a mechanism is installed to allow the Sun to move freely across the sky. When it moved slowly to the North and finally reached the lowest level in the sky, the springs they placed in the Sun would help bounce it back slowly to the level that it had started from, and when it reached that spot, it would slowly start its downward motion once again. This movement would occur repeatedly, and with that help, Earth’s people finally experienced four distinct seasons. All the land was ever grateful for the assistance of the Star Catcher. http://www.angelwingartfarm.com
Meteor Shower

Once, every now and then, the Moon receives a treat from the cosmos. It doesn’t take much to make the Moon happy because who won’t be happy bathing in the love of the Sun all night? This is one of those times that if you are lucky enough to look up at the Moon that night, you will see her smiling from crater to crater. By her solar calendar, she knew a cosmic event would happen soon, and that soon was this very night. It is known as an atmospheric phenomenon, a stream of cosmic debris, or, more accurately, a meteor shower. Out of her celestial closet, she grabbed her favorite red umbrella. Then, to keep her feet dry, she slipped on a pair of galoshes and a bucket to collect some fallen stars. She waited to go outside before opening her umbrella, as opening it inside was considered bad luck. As a cloud passed, she jumped on the nearest cloud and went for a star-falling stroll with her red umbrella held high over her Moon head, galoshes, and star bucket. To her pleasure, the sky rained down stars from a passing comet that night. The Moon waved to it, thanked it as it passed by Earth, and shared its dust trail with her and the people of Earth. So, if you are ever lucky enough to see a meteor shower, be sure to follow the Moon’s suggestion to grab an umbrella and a pair of galoshes, and don’t forget your star bucket. http://www.angelwingartfarm.com

Cavern of Stars

Aurora drifts through the universe, a planet veiled in mystery, known for its underground cities and the legendary “Cavern of the Stars.” Aurora was once a flourishing world, filled with fertile, lush lands and farms that cultivated food to sustain not only its inhabitants but also many distant worlds. This era of abundance ended abruptly when a comet came to visit . After striking the planet, it brought widespread destruction and altered their way of life. In response to this catastrophe, the survivors retreated beneath the planet’s surface and constructed a subterranean home composed of miles of interconnected tunnels, chambers, caverns, and caves, all linked by the slow-moving River of the Constellations. Without agriculture, historical texts explain that the civilization adapted by finding a new way to sustain themselves: the people of Aurora transformed into Cosmic Mystics. A prevailing theory suggests that the comet was enchanted, releasing magical energy into the ground upon impact. Stardust from the cavern’s roof filled the Aurorans’ lungs and souls, awakening their minds and unlocking the subdwellers’ mystical powers and psychic abilities. As a result, the Aurorans discovered their capacity to weave their thoughts into the collective dreams and memories of every Auroran who had ever lived, as well as to access the memories surrounding the birth and death of Suns themselves. Thus, they became a living archive, filled with wisdom, guidance, knowledge, and insights into the past, present, and potential futures. However, this transformation came at a cost. One day, all Aurorans vanished without a trace, as if erased from existence. News of this disappearance reached the distant planet of Avens. In response, a Wisdom Seeker was dispatched to Aurora to recover any remnants of their civilization. Upon arrival, the Wisdom Seeker found only lingering thoughts and a moon-shaped boat. He began to drift through the darkness, paddling along the river while the only light came from the stars hanging from the stalagmites, illuminating his path as he passed through the vast cavern system. As he moved further, he sensed that he was being watched. Rounding the final jagged bend, the atmosphere abruptly shifted, growing crisp and charged like the air before a lightning strike. At that moment, a voice entered his mind, stating, “Welcome to Aurora, Wisdom Seeker. These stars that hang from the roof carry all our memories.” Halting the moon boat, the Wisdom Seeker asked, “Who is this, and how do you know who I am?” The voice replied, “We are the collective consciousness of the Auroras. We have been expecting you. Dear Wisdom Seeker, we possess psychic powers and knew you would come.” “Where have you gone?” the Wisdom Seeker asked. The response was, “We are not gone, just merely elsewhere. Now, take a star in your hand and hold it to your forehead, and it will reveal the truths that it possesses.” Following these instructions, the Wisdom Seeker witnessed the star bloom with light, and as he touched it to his forehead, his mind was transported to a field of tall corn stalks, the wind in his face, and the fragrance of earth in the air. A figure greeted him, saying, “Welcome to our past.” Explaining further, the figure said, “Each star holds different memories, not only of our world but of the cosmos. Now go and learn and absorb all we have written.” Removing the star from his head, the Seeker found himself back in the cavern. The Wisdom Seeker’s mission was twofold: to protect the Cavern of the Stars and to prove himself its worthy custodian. Realizing the enormity of deciphering all the stars, he gathered as much information as possible before calling for another Wisdom Seeker to relieve him. This process allowed him to return to Aven and report his findings. The cycle was to continue as long as necessary. Even today, the extraction of information from the caverns persists in the hope of securing not only Aven but the entire galaxy.
Query Letter

Getting Closer to sending out emails to agents. Here is my Query Letter.. Dear [Agent Name],
I am seeking representation for ENCHANTED DREAMS: MOON, SUN, AND STARS, an illustrated picture book collection featuring 26 tales and artwork for readers of all ages. As an author-illustrator and professional artist since 1987, I create imaginative tales that introduce readers to myth, mystery, and the untold legends of the cosmos.
ENCHANTED DREAMS is a collection of celestial-themed fables, each uniquely complemented with original ink and watercolor illustrations. Unlike many picture books, this collection weaves together unique imaginative storytelling with artistic interpretations of cosmic mythology, offering both visual and literary engagement. In tales like “Stars Just Wanna Have Fun” and “Orion and the Dragon,” I invite readers to discover the universe’s secrets in playful narratives and vibrant imagery. These tales, averaging 300–400 words each, offer intimate glimpses into my own “enchanted dreams,” transforming celestial events into whimsical, relatable legends.
In addition to this collection, I am developing a second project titled “THE CHRONICLES OF THE WISDOM SEEKERS.” My work draws on a lifetime of artistic experience across various media, from copper and wood craftsmanship to etch and reverse glass painting. My creative path was deeply shaped by a 1980 accident that required me to relearn how to walk; today, I use that “overcoming spirit” to advocate for disability representation in art through my “Beautifully Broken” expressionistic series.
I am a member of SCBWI, and my full portfolio can be viewed at http://www.angelwingartfarm.com.
Thank you for your time and for considering these legends of long-lost knowledge.
May the Moon, Sun, and Stars shine brightly upon you, Sincerely,
David Krafcik

The Painter of Tales
The Core Philosophy: My work is a dialogue between the earth and the cosmos. As the “teller and painter of tales,” I believe that every star has a tale and every dream is a gateway to ancient wisdom. Through my art, I aim to enchant the viewer, offering intimate glimpses into a celestial realm where the Moon, Sun, and Stars are not just distant lights but living characters in an eternal, whimsical play.
The Journey of Resilience. My creative path was redefined in 1980 following a life-altering accident that required me to relearn the simplest of human movements: walking. This period of “being broken” did not end my artistry; it not only deepened it. It gave rise to my Beautifully Broken reverse glass painting series and taught me that there is a unique, jagged beauty in survival. I carry this “overcoming spirit” into every watercolor wash and every line of prose, supporting the idea that our scars are simply where the light enters.
Medium and Vision. Medium and Vision. With a professional history of owning my own art business since 1987, I have ventured into the art of Stamp-clothing, Airbrush, Glass etching, glass carving, reverse glass painting, and fused glass and woodworking. But in watercolor and tale-telling, I have found my true voice. My current collections, Enchanted Dreams, the Moon, Sun and Stars, and The Chronicles of the Wisdom Seekers, are the result of years of skill blended with a lifetime of dreaming. I create for seekers, dreamers, and those who know the most important tales are often whispered by the Moon.
Floating Islands of Echo Canyon

Floating Islands of Echo Canyon; In the silence of the space, there spun a drifting planet. A world where the sky is composed of a thousand floating islands of rocks. A place known as “Floating Islands of Echo Canyon.”
Some of the rock islands have small, stunted trees growing from their surface; on others, tall, flowing emerald-green grass rippled by the movement of the rock island on which it grows. However, upon one of the weathered crags of floating rocks sat the famed Golden Cauldron. Inside the Golden Cauldron were planets of all sizes and colors waiting to be born. This Wisdom Seeker, also known as the Gardener of the Galaxies, was to be guided here by the ancient writings of Celste from the Isle of Wisdom to help populate this part of the galaxy.
The wording went on to explain that once the cauldron became lit and then heated to a certain temperature, it would release these worlds into the cosmos, forming new and exciting species of life. To find this particular island that held the golden cauldron, he first needed to decipher the coordinates from ancient writings found only in the Temple of the Twin Suns.
With the decoded position deciphered, he installed it into the portal in hopes that when opened, this floating rock would be the correct one. If not, it would be a long day, as he would then need to go from floating rock to floating rock. As the portal opened, he carefully walked out onto a floating Island. To his pleasure, the deciphered coordinates he had entered into the portal were correct.
Not wasting any time, he took a seat next to the Golden Cauldron. Anxiously, he placed one hand onto the golden cauldron. Then whispered a few words from a long-dead tongue. Slowly, the cauldron began to discharge steam. He then took his hand from the heating cauldron and reached for the glowing globe that sat on top of his staff.
Speaking more ancient words. The globe started to hum. A blinding light appeared from within, illuminating it. Before his eyes, the globe took the shape of a small Sun. Slowly, the irradiated globe rose from his grasp and ascended into the sky, where it hung above the smoldering golden cauldron, patiently beckoning for it to release its contents.
Not having to wait too long, a small, round, blue planet then erupted from the cauldron, only to be followed by many other colored planets and stars. Then the newly born Sun hobbled and began to rise upward into the cosmos, followed by the planets that emerged from the cauldron. The Gardener of the Galaxies stood and watched as the newly formed planets followed the Sun into the atmosphere. They vanished one by one into the heavens.
“Go, seek your orbits around the Sun and create new worlds and history.”
Knowing his task here was finished, and another cosmic garden had been sown, he summoned the portal to begin his next adventure to create more Suns and Worlds somewhere else in the great void of galaxies. *If you wish to purchase the artwork on different types of materials pleasee go to https://www.redbubble.com/people/AngelWingArt/shop?asc=u&ref=account-nav-dropdown
Cosmic Cradle

Atop a high mountain, in a clearing, stood a very ancient oak tree. One fateful night, a massive star storm swept through the area. The storm raged for hours. Countless celestial objects rained down from the heavens. One particular star struck the ancient oak with tremendous force, shattering it into pieces and scattering the remnants all over the mountaintop. Sometime later, on another dark evening with no moon in the sky and only the stars hanging in the night sky, a portal opened and out stepped Wisdom Seeker. Not sure why he was sent to this particular world, he proceeded to wander about looking for a clue. That’s when he stumbled upon one of the shattered pieces of the ancient oak tree that had been struck by the star storm. Seeing a particular-shaped limb lying on the ground, he picked it up and tossed it in his hand. Then a voice echoed in his head. ”With the staff you have found, brandish it above your head first to the North, then South, East, and West. Tap the staff on the ground three times, then wave it to the heavens. Having always listened to the voices in his head, he followed the instructions. What happened next was nothing short of unbelievable. After waving the staff in all directions and tapping it on the ground three times, the staff began to shoot planets into the sky—blue ones, red ones, ones with halos. Not only planets but stars accompanied them. So many flew from the staff that it was like fireworks illuminating the night. He stood and watched as they drifted to the cosmos, filling the sky with new worlds. The silence that came afterward was like the fall of fresh snow. The Wisdom Seeker looked at the oak limb in his hand and was shocked to still find it there. Thinking that the power it put forth would have turned to ash, but instead it had turned into a shining black obsidian material that hummed and pulsated as if alive. “What has happened?” he asked the staff. The voice then returned to his head. “The ancient oak was a harbinger of the world’s old memory. When the star storm shattered the ancient oak, it was infused with the power of the cosmos.” With a look of awe, the Seeker asks, “How is it I have the power to unleash the energy stored in the staff?” The voice continued, “My dear Wisdom Seeker, it is because you have been chosen for this task. Now, take this staff and go forward, finding worlds that will support its power to populate the galaxies.” As the voice in his head faded, his mind cleared for new thoughts. Knowing that he could never return to his life as a Wisdom Seeker, a surge of new power flowed through him. Shaking, he held the staff up, then paused to survey the surroundings. A sense of realization struck him about his newfound responsibility to the cosmos and to himself. With a deep breath, he withdrew from his robe the glass orb he carried to summon the portal. Gently, he affixed it to the top of his new staff. Then tapped on the ground three times, and the portal snapped open to summon him to not only home but to new adventures. He arrived as a Wisdom Seeker only to leave as the “Gardener of the Galaxies.” http://www.angelwingartfarm.com

Gardener of Galaxies

“Gardener of Galaxies” to support or buy items with the painting, please go to https://www.redbubble.com/shop/ap/177379883?ref=studio-promote Gardener of Galaxies. This is a tale that was once whispered to me, and I feel it is my turn to whisper it to you. This is a story of one rare and uncommon Wisdom Seeker. A rogue that not only travels to other planets, gathering new Wisdom and Knowledge, but then turns around and spreads the findings to help restore worlds that had been stripped of their own intellectual knowledge and spiritual wisdom through greed and stupidity, leaving only an empty orb floating aimlessly through the galaxy. Because of his deeds, he is celebrated throughout the cosmos as a gardener of galaxies. Once long ago, the gardener of galaxies came to a particular planet that seemed to be as empty as a bowl. He was surprised to find that something about this world had a whole different vibe. A strong sense of healing emanated from it. He had never felt or come across it before. It was emanating a special power that seemed to come from its core. that, when tapped correctly, could give stripped planets a way to infuse them with life again. Here was a world that he could take and release the barren globes that he had taken under his care and carefully nursed back to life. Here, he infused the lessons he had learned throughout his cosmic travels to other worlds and planets. Climbing to the highest peak in this world, he bent to his knees, reached into his red cloak, and carefully grabbed a handful of worlds he had stored. Slowly, he opened his hand and like magic, which it was, the tiny worlds started to drift upwards. Then, when they reached a certain height, a cosmic wind touched them. When it did, the tiny worlds flew off to other galaxies to form brand new worlds. This is the story of the Gardener of Galaxies.
Oracle of the Stars

On that faithful morning, a raging rain storm accompanied by hail and sleet doused all of Aven, including the steps of the Council of the Moon, Sun, and Stars. Then, a ray of light suddenly poked through the dark, ominous black clouds. At that moment, one would have thought the storm might be ending, but suddenly a flash of blue lightning streaked down from the clouds above and struck upon the pavement, sending the ground debris far and wide. The air hummed with ancient magic, then, without warning, parted, and a portal from another land opened. A stranger appeared and walked out of the opening in the air. This newcomer wore a veil over her face and a sky-blue hooded cloak tied with a golden rope. Both hands were occupied. In one, a black staff, said to be made of a fallen meteor, and in the other, the reason she had come to this planet.
Peering towards the rain-swollen sky, she tapped the staff she held on the ground. It seemed that the rain understood what it was meant to do, and it ceased to fall. Then, turning to face the steps leading to the Council of the Moon, Sun & Stars, another tap of her staff found the wet ground. When the echo from the tap ended uttering in a loud voice she announced, “I have come to speak with the high cleric of the Moon, Sun and Stars” A pause and then continued using the same vocal,” I bare messages that can, if you choose, and will, if you choose, to change the Aven world,” After a moment A beam of light shone out of a slowly opening door that was stationed above the steps of the Council of the Moon, Sun and Stars. Clad in a black cloak with the hood pulled over his head, he slowly walked out of the door and down the steps. When he arrived at the bottom, he declared. ‘I am called “Daystar” of the “Sun clan” and high cleric of the Council of the Moon, Sun, and Stars. Who is it that summons me this day?” The traveler replies, “I appear before you today, high cleric of the Moon, Sun, and Stars all in thanks to a Star Gate.” She then taps her staff upon the ground, and the Star Gate that had appeared behind her snaps shut and disappears. The stranger bows her head and then continues, “I am Cosmic Sentinel known as Celeste of the Isles of Wisdom, the goddess of Light, stars, and mystery. My world is a world filled with divine knowledge of things, past, present, and future. But more importantly, I am the keeper of the Oracle of the Stars, which I hold in my possession.” She then held out for the high cleric to see. “The Oracle of the Stars contains a testament to divine wisdom and celestial knowledge. Within it is a great awakening and the key to unlocking realms beyond your own world. Truths that your kind have never witnessed before. ” She retorted. Daystar bowed and said to her, “I welcome you to our planet, Aven, Celeste. Of what information does this Oracle of the Stars hold that may help our world?” he softly asked. “The Oracle of the Stars holds the untold mastery of how one may summon a portal in which to travel to far other worlds and stars. Where mystical and marvelous new discoveries may be found.” “That is quite the revelation your oracle holds,” Daystar proclaimed. Celeste continues, “ If traveled wisely, these revelations can help to enrich the lives of your people of Aven. Let it also be known that some worlds may even disclose guidance on how to save your home from catastrophes that originate from the cosmos or the dying of your planet.” Celeste beckoned him to come forward. When he reached her, she handed him the scrolls that contained the Oracle of the Stars. He accepted them with shaking hands. Daystar then unrolled one of the scrolls and started to read it. Shaking his head, he said to her, “ I am sorry, Celeste of the Isles of Wisdom, for I do not have the knowledge in deciphering the writing within these scrolls.” “I realized that they are in a strange script, my dear Daystar. It is to keep what is held within the scrolls to only a select group of people. One of the other scrolls contained the key to deciphering the portal’s creation. You are to share this scroll with the other high clerics, learn it and then destroy it so it may not fall into the wrong eyes”. Daystar clutched the scrolls and, looking at Celeste, said, “ I understand the need to keep them secret. Falling into the wrong eyes could cause great harm. I will share them with my brothers and sisters of the high council, Learn the script, and then destroy the scroll. This is a great gift that you bestow upon us. May I ask why, and also what do you need in return for sharing this knowledge and wisdom?” “Ah, Daystar, I am from a peaceful tribe. We desire no profit, only for you to share the wisdom and knowledge discovered on the worlds you visit.” “Then I need to ask again, why now?” Daystar replied. “ We are aging and have no others to carry on the exploration of the universe. We only wish for you and your people to benefit from our knowledge.” Daystar opens his mouth to speak, and Celeste holds up her hand to silence him. She then taps her staff on the ground. The portal appears before her. Turning to enter, she stops and then turns back to Daystar and explains, “One more truth needs to be known before I venture through the portal and return to my homeland. Once you have arrived at the destination, you will only have a short amount of time to take care of the reason you have gone there. If you do not return within that amount of time, the portal will close and never open again.” Daystar walks toward Celeste and says, “Do you mean to say they will be trapped there forever?” “Yes,” Celeste turns and enters the portal. Daystar yells, “But how long of a time do we have before this happens?” But Celeste does not turn to answer; she continues into the portal, and it snaps shut behind her.
