The Keeper of Night and Day: Once there was this place where he sat every day at the top of the mountain. The same piece of ground, the same view of the horizon. Like the rest of the trees, he started as an acorn that turned into a sapling. Then, with the help of rain and the Sun above grew into a mighty Oak. Within the entire forest, he had become known as “The Keeper of the Night and Day.” It was not the title he wished for, but a task that was bestowed upon him. You see, long ago, another Keeper stood in the same spot that he stands now. That was until an axman came and chopped the old Keeper down one day. Now the job has become his to spread his limbs and cast his shadow and shade for all to enjoy. You may ask why he is known to one and all as “The Keeper of Night and Day?” For most folks, there is a difference between night and day, but here, high on top of this particular mountain, the only difference between night and day is what side of the tree you stand on. There is no other place on the Blue Island where this happens. Only one, and this is the place. The home of the Keeper of the Night and Day. So if you are in the dark and need some light, remember all you have to do is step to the other side of the tree.
